Catching the tail end of festival season, i’ve been invited to play at the two-day Rocky Mountain Crystallization Festival in Denver. June 13: Loda w/ Version Sound (DC Metro)

So apparently i decided to skip the beginning of the festival season and spend June on the eastern seaboard. So far it’s been upper 80’s, thunderstorms, and a tornado. Yesterday a tree fell into a major thoroughfare right in front of me, cars braking hard, one making it through by about 3 feet… Ah weather, i remember weather. I mean technically mid 60’s and fog is weather but… you know, weather that changes…

Anyway… for my first operation on Atlantic soil in about 3 years, i’m way stoked to be playing alongside Version Sound at 88 DC’s new event, Loda.

88 is doing big tings in the DC metro area, with forward thinking events that showcase more than just a diverse music lineup (although they certainly hold that down). Integrating multiple forms of sound, visual, and performance art in a very friendly, deeply interactive atmosphere, their events are “breaking down barriers between the normal, everyday population and artist” (88 co-founder David Fogel, quoted in the Washington Times).

Version Sound is THE DC dub soundsystem — “3 Selectors, 1 MC and 1 Space Echo unit.” Niiice. Check out their new mixes, Twiss Up and Be Thankful. Both are heavy duty.
